Voyager joins Equity Fibre to help more Kiwi households get connected
We’re proud to be joining the Chorus Equity Fibre programme, helping eligible New Zealand households access reliable fibre broadband for no more than $30 per month with our FibreAssist plan.
For many of us, being online is simply part of daily life. Everything from education and employment to healthcare and other services is moving online. We use the internet to learn, work, create, shop, pay bills, run businesses, book appointments, and stay connected with whānau, friends, and our communities.
Yet for some households, the cost of broadband remains a barrier.
Without internet access, people can miss out on opportunities to participate fully in the world around them. It can affect access to education, employment, essential services, and community support, widening the digital divide for those already facing challenges.
That’s why we wanted to be part of this initiative.
Why we’re supporting affordable fibre broadband
We’re a premium New Zealand-owned internet provider with our own network, delivering fast, reliable connectivity and award-winning service to thousands of Kiwi homes and businesses.
We know how important a good internet connection is for everyday life. We believe no one should have to go without. Backed by our strong network and experienced team, we’re well positioned to help more New Zealanders get connected.
Voyager CEO and Founder Seeby Woodhouse says the programme is a natural fit for the business.
“I’ve always believed the internet opens doors. It did that when we were building internet businesses in the early days, and it is even more true now with AI, online learning, remote work and all the creative tools people have at their fingertips. The next big shift will not mean much if people cannot get online to be part of it. Voyager is a premium provider with our own network, and quality matters to us, but access matters too. Supporting the Equity Fibre programme is one way we can help more New Zealanders take part in what comes next.”
What’s included in the Equity Fibre programme?
Through the programme, eligible New Zealand households can access a fibre broadband plan (we’ve named it FibreAssist) for $30 per month, with month-to-month billing and no fixed-term contract.
We’ll also provide a loan router where required, helping remove another common barrier to getting connected.
Our role is to make the process as simple and human as possible. That means clear information, a straightforward eligibility pathway, helpful support, and a service experience that treats people with respect.
Programmes like this only work when people know they exist and feel comfortable applying. We’ll be working alongside trusted community channels to raise awareness and help eligible households understand what’s available - without confusion, stigma, or unnecessary red tape.
Helping close New Zealand’s digital divide
The Equity Fibre programme is about more than broadband. It’s about helping more people participate, learn, work, create, connect, and thrive in an increasingly digital New Zealand.
Whether it’s learning, working, creating, or staying connected with whānau, it all starts with access.
If you know someone who could benefit from more affordable home internet, we’d encourage you to share this programme with them.
We’re proud to play a part.
Because keeping Kiwis connected is what we do.
